Where the Community Gathers: AFRAM 2025

What’s more Black than a Baltimore summer? Spending the first days of that summer at the 50th edition of AFRAM in Druid Hill Park. I have lived in Baltimore since 2019, and I finally found the opportunity to attend this year (by putting myself on assignment of course). My goal for this photo essay was to focus on the main aspect of AFRAM that makes it so special: the attendees. The joy, both simultaneously chaotic and chill, can be felt in every pocket of the festival. The sea of Blackness encapsulated the park, and warmed my heart. I hope you enjoy the images I have to offer.
